Anything telephoneer “says” to a caller, like voicemail greetings or voice menu options, are called Say Actions. There are two types of Say Action; the Text-to-Speech action where telephoneer reads some text to the caller, and the Audio File action where telephoneer plays the audio file to the caller.
If you’re looking to customise your existing voicemail greeting see our step-by-step guide. To add a new greeting or message, read on.
Log in to the telephoneer web app and head for the Actions page. Once there, select the SAY actions tab.
Click the Add (+) button to show the sub-menu which has buttons for creating Text-To-Speech and Audio File actions.
Adding a Text-to-Speech Action
Click the Add text-to-speech action button to show the New Text-To-Speed Action dialogue.
Add a name for the action. I recommend a name that clearly identifies it’s purpose so it’s easy to recognize later on.
Enter the message text. This is what telephoneer will “say” to the caller.
Click ADD and you’re done!
Adding an Audio File Action
Click the Add audio file action button.
Enter a meaningful name for the action — something that you’ll recognize later on.
Next, click the upload arrow button at the end of the filename field and find your audio file. Telephoneer works with .mp3 and .wav format audio files under 200KB in size. Select your audio file and telephoneer will fill in the filename automatically.

I recommend putting a transcript of the audio file greeting in the Message Text field. It appears on the action’s card in the SAY tab and makes it much easier to identify.
Finally, click the ADD button to save. You’re done!
A card for your new Say Action will be added to the actions tab. If you added an audio file action, you can click the icon in the centre of the card to play the file.
